Beaver Creek, located in Wisconsin in between the cities of (i) Chippewa Falls; (ii) Eau Claire; and (iii) Menomonie, has a happy bunch of black bears. These short video clips tell a part of the Beaver Creek Bears' story.
The first videos show six-year-old Huey and younger Rascal dancing. This was one of the last Beaver Creek Bear dances captured on film during the final stages of the 2025 Bear Year.
In the spring, we like to put together a list of what we expect the Beaver Creek Bears may show us in the upcoming Bear Year - referred to as Beaver Creek Bear Mystery Theatre. However, our expectations often fall short of the completely unanticipated bear shenanigans that end up being caught on film. The next videos discuss several of our expectations for the 2026 Bear Year.
The next videos show that the timing of when the Beaver Creek Bears finally awake from hibernation is often dependent on Mother Nature. For if the weather is in-climate, Beaver Creek may steadfastly refuse to "green up." Which in turn leads to the proverbial saying: "No food, No bears."
For those interested in foraging and mushrooms, our exquisite bride, Hunter, has an online store with various mushroom products - The Mushroom Lover.
We recommend Hunter's Porcini Rub, which is sublime seasoning when cooking or grilling rib eye steaks. And Hunter's children's book, Where The Mushrooms Are, is a fun way to get your toddlers interested in nature and everything interwald.
